You're absolutely right, and I certainly won't be purchasing this year's City shirt (as I have on many occasions). And the ticket prices are honestly even worse, because it undermines my club's loyal fanbase who have supported City through thick and thin.

We've seen it firsthand at Fulham - there was a media day recently, and this is one of the articles that emerged afterward.

"'At other clubs you hear the c-word - here the c-words are champagne and caviar,' says Mackintosh." Perhaps our club is just rejecting the working-class altogether? :S

Great and important stuff, thanks Josh. It’s pretty sickening what these clubs do. An injured player returns to the squad - Get 40% off on their name and number on the shirt. No matter that shirt has about 4 games left until the new one comes out. The women’s team wins the Champions League five minutes ago, Get your £120 commemorative jacket. It totally stinks. The only defence I can give my team - and it’s a risible defence - is that they are trying to reduce the financial advantage of City, a reasoning perhaps backed by those £71 minimum Etihad tickets. A nation state team clearly can’t get rich enough. We all have the power to stop going to games, but they know they’ve got us.
